Goals

As we're moving, I have some goals I want to achieve in our new house. Both in my business and at home.

  • Be More Tidy - Anyone who know me will probably just laugh at this as I am the most untidy person ever.... But as we're moving, we've managed to get rid of a lot of junk and I'm hoping that living in a really nice flat will help us want to keep it looking lovely... Fingers crossed...
  • Finish My Wholesale Catalogue - I started this a while ago, I think I'm about halfway through and then I just stopped, so I really need to get that done soon!
  • Take New Product Photos - Especially for the tote bags, I think I need to improve the photos and make them look really professional, maybe I'll do a lookbook or something too....
  •  Do More Drawing - I need to draw and paint for enjoyment, not just for designing!
  • Do Some Exercise - .... hahaha
  • Hang Art - I've gained a lot of prints, pretty cards and postcards that have been hanging around without frames, that's a job for Ikea!

  • Do Some Craft Fairs - I'm hoping that being back in Nottingham there will be more opportunities to visit and sell at craft fairs.
  • Get A Job - I've been working part time in a supermarket in Stoke, so I'm now looking for something in Nottingham. I enjoy having a little job as when you work from home, it helps to get you out of the house and in the company of actual people!

A Quick and Simple DIY

Today I've got a quick and simple upcycled jewellery DIY for you!

As we're packing our stuff away and sorting through what we want to keep when we move to Nottingham, I came across a few old necklaces that I realised I hadn't worn since moving to Stoke. So in a burst of creativity I thought I could upcycle them into necklaces that I would wear and that are perhaps more my style currently.

The necklaces I found were big, bulky beaded ones, perfect for chopping up and revamping!

You will need:

- A selection of old beaded necklaces
- Thread or something to thread the beads onto, in my case I used some black waxed cotton cord
- Jump rings
- Any kind of jewellery pliers or small pliers
- Scissors

- First start by cutting up your old necklaces and saving the beads -

- Next pick your beads and arrange them how you'd like them on the necklace -

- Cut your thread/cord to your desired length, then thread the beads on -

- Choose to do either a simple knot -

- OR -

- A fancy end, I used a big jump ring, I think they are 12mm with two of those cord end thingys. As my necklaces were all quite long I chose not to use a clasp, but if you prefer to do shorter ones you can easily fix a lobster clasp onto the ends with a little jump ring -

And thats it! Very easy, very quick and a good use of old jewellery!

Below are a few more that I made too!

B(u)Y Me Handmade Craft Fair

This is my first craft fair this year!! I'm hoping that when we move back to Nottingham I'll have more opportunities to do craft fairs, as I really miss them!

On the 17th (6-9pm) and the 18th (10am-4pm) of May I'll be at the B(u)Y Me Handmade Craft Fair at the Borough Museum and Art Gallery in Newcastle-Under-Lyme. I'm really looking forward to doing a fair as I haven't done one in ages!

A Cute Print

I've been a bad blogger recently, I keep forgetting to write posts! I normally do a few in advance to make it easier but I've been quite busy... We're moving house in less than two weeks, all the way back to Nottingham. We found the perfect flat, it's lovely and light and airy. So we have lots of packing to do and lots of downsizing. We have way too much stuff, so we're selling bits and taking stuff to the charity shops. It feels quite therapeutic going through all out junk and being extra ruthless with it!

This morning I received a really cute print from Stacie Swift, which I won in a giveaway a little while ago. It's fantastic, I'm saving it to put up in the new flat, I just need to a get a frame!

Check out more of Stacie Swift's prints and cards over on her Etsy shop and website!

Supplies Sale

Next month we're moving all the way back to Nottingham, as my boyfriend managed to get his almost dream job! Lucky him :) Sooo we are having a major sort out of all our stuff ready for the move.

The first room we sorted was my studio, I definitely have way too much stuff! I'm selling lots of crafty supplies and fabric scraps over on Facebook so pop over and have a browse.

The next jobs are bedroom and living room, so we'll probably be adding lots to Ebay next week, I'll let you know!
